SOARS
Exciting Summer Opportunity: SOAR Program for Rising Seniors!
Attention current Juniors (Class of 2027)! Are you ready to get a head start on your future?
We are excited to share an incredible opportunity to experience college life firsthand through the SOAR Summer Camp. This is a FREE week-long program designed specifically for high-achieving students to help you navigate the transition from high school to higher education.
What is SOAR?
In partnership with Alabama A&M University and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, SOAR offers an immersive campus experience. During your week on campus, you will:
- Master the Process: Get insider knowledge on college admissions and financial aid.
- Fund Your Future: Explore various scholarship opportunities.
- Find Your Path: Deep-dive into different academic majors and potential career pathways.
- Experience Campus Life: Live and learn like a college student for an entire week!

Tip: Since this is a program for high-achieving students, make sure to give yourself enough time to complete the application thoroughly before the May 15th deadline!

Senior Pictures - TBA
- To have your pictures made, it will cost you a setting fee of varying prices depending on the amount of poses you take. You can pay online or in person. Wilcox Recognition portraits are the ONLY ones used on the senior pages!
- Each of you will receive a card in the mail with the times to be at GCHS for your pictures.
- BE ON TIME!
- If you need to change your time, just let me know at (931)242-5589
- If you miss your appointment, you have to schedule on the make up day.
- Casual as well as formal pictures will be taken.
- Bring or wear a white shirt or tank top for the formal ones
- Have all other outfits ready with you. (maximum of 4 changes) Makeup day it will only be formal and 1 casual.
- Dress Code is not mandatory for these pictures, however, you will have to pick a decent one for the yearbook.
- Picture Choices.
- Each of you will choose a formal pose and a casual pose.
- You can only use Wilcox Recognition pictures for the yearbook senior formal section. You can email a casual picture at a later date.
Senior Ads
- Senior ads will go on sale at the beginning of school in September. If you would like one you will need to get a form from Mrs. Bedingfield. The prices are listed below:
- ⅛ page - $40, ¼ page - $70, ⅓ page - $80, ½ page - $120, and full page - $200.
- The deadline to purchase is by Thanksgiving break, November 22nd. To make sure we are not late with the book, it is imperative that even if you need more time for the information, that you pay for the ad by the deadline to hold a spot.
- You can use any pictures you want for these ads.
Senior Fat Heads/Banners
- This year, ALL fall sports Fat Heads, (Band, Cheer, Golf, Cross Country, Girls Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Football) will be announced at a later date. So please make plans now to attend.
- Depending on the coaches and their budgets, you may be asked to pay for these. Large ones are $75.00 and the smaller ones are $35.00.
