Giles County High ~ Alternative School & Credit Recovery

Alternative School

Students whose behavior becomes too disruptive to be solved through the regular school program may be assigned to the Alternative School, which is located in room V14 in the Giles County High Vocational building. Students assigned to the Alternative School for disciplinary reasons are not allowed to be on school property, ride a school bus, or participate in any school activities on or off campus for any Giles County School.

Credit Recovery

Giles County High Offers credit recovery to students who have failed a course for the semester. Credit recovery is offered in all English and Math as well as most Science and Social Studies courses. It is also available for Spanish. A computer based curriculum known as Plato is used to assist students in recovering failed credits. Anyone interested in taking part in credit recovery should see the guidance counselor or the principal.
